How do I connect Instagram to Claude?

You need two things: (1) connect Instagram to Sequel in your Sequel dashboard under Connections, and (2) add the Sequel MCP config to Claude using the setup shown above. Once both are done, Claude can query your Instagram data directly.

What Instagram data can Claude access?

Claude can access any data available through your Instagram connection in Sequel. Use Sequel's search tool to discover available metrics and dimensions, then execute queries to pull the data you need.

Is my Instagram data sent to Claude's servers?

Query results are returned to Claude as context within your conversation. Only the data you explicitly ask about is retrieved. Sequel never stores your query results permanently — they exist only for the duration of the tool call.

Do I need a Sequel account?

Yes. You need a Sequel account to connect Instagram and generate an API key. Sign up free at sequel.sh — no credit card required. Then create a connection to Instagram and generate an API key from Settings → API Keys.

Can I connect multiple Instagram accounts?

Yes. Sequel supports multiple connections of the same type. If you have multiple Instagram accounts or properties, add each as a separate connection in Sequel. Claude will be able to query all of them.

Does this work with Claude Desktop and Claude.ai?

The JSON config above works with Claude Desktop (Mac and Windows). Claude.ai supports MCP through Workspaces — go to Settings → Integrations to add the Sequel MCP URL there.

What databases can Claude query through Sequel?

Any database or analytics tool you've connected in Sequel: PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, Google Analytics, and more. Claude can only access connections your organization has set up.

Is my database data sent to Anthropic?

Query results are passed to Claude as context within your conversation. Anthropic's standard data handling policies apply. Sequel never stores your query results permanently — they exist only for the duration of the tool call.

Can I limit which connections Claude can see?

Sequel MCP is scoped to your organization's connections. You can create separate API keys for different use cases and revoke them at any time from Settings → API Keys.
