How do I connect Instagram to Claude Code?

You need two things: (1) connect Instagram to Sequel in your Sequel dashboard under Connections, and (2) add the Sequel MCP config to Claude Code using the setup shown above. Once both are done, Claude Code can query your Instagram data directly.

What Instagram data can Claude Code access?

Claude Code can access any data available through your Instagram connection in Sequel. Use Sequel's search tool to discover available metrics and dimensions, then execute queries to pull the data you need.

Is my Instagram data sent to Claude Code's servers?

Query results are returned to Claude Code as context within your conversation. Only the data you explicitly ask about is retrieved. Sequel never stores your query results permanently — they exist only for the duration of the tool call.

Do I need a Sequel account?

Yes. You need a Sequel account to connect Instagram and generate an API key. Sign up free at sequel.sh — no credit card required. Then create a connection to Instagram and generate an API key from Settings → API Keys.

Can I connect multiple Instagram accounts?

Yes. Sequel supports multiple connections of the same type. If you have multiple Instagram accounts or properties, add each as a separate connection in Sequel. Claude Code will be able to query all of them.

How do I add Sequel to Claude Code?

Run the `claude mcp add` command shown above in your terminal. Replace `sql_your_api_key` with a key from Settings → API Keys. The server is added at the default `local` scope (current project only).

How do I make Sequel available across every project?

Add the `--scope user` flag: `claude mcp add --scope user --transport http sequel https://api.sequel.sh/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer sql_your_api_key"`. User-scope servers are available in every Claude Code session on this machine.

Can I verify Sequel is connected?

Run `claude mcp list` to see all configured MCP servers, or `claude mcp get sequel` to inspect the Sequel config specifically.

Does this work in Claude Code's non-interactive mode?

Yes. Sequel tools are available in both interactive (`claude`) and non-interactive (`claude -p 'your prompt'`) modes. They're also available when using Claude Code via the SDK.
