Frequently asked questions
How do I connect HubSpot to Sequel?
Click 'New Connection' → HubSpot, name it, and click 'Connect with HubSpot'. HubSpot's OAuth screen will ask you to choose a portal and confirm the read-only CRM scopes Sequel needs. The whole flow takes under a minute.
What HubSpot permissions does Sequel ask for?
Read-only access to contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and their schemas: crm.objects.{contacts,companies,deals,tickets}.read plus crm.schemas.{contacts,companies,deals,tickets}.read. No write scopes are requested, so Sequel cannot create, update, or delete CRM records.
Does Sequel support custom properties?
Yes. The connector pulls the property schema for each object type at query time and uses your real custom property names — so 'ACV', 'Onboarding Status', or whatever you've built shows up in answers without manual configuration.
Can Sequel see Marketing Hub data — emails, forms, workflows?
Out of the box the connector ships read tools for CRM objects (contacts, companies, deals, tickets) and pipelines. Marketing assets like emails and workflows are not currently exposed; ping us if you need them and we'll prioritize.
What about multi-portal access?
Connect each portal as a separate Sequel data source — sandbox + production, or one per business unit — and the agent will treat them as independent sources you can query side by side or join across.
How does Sequel handle HubSpot rate limits?
HubSpot enforces per-portal API rate limits depending on your tier. Sequel respects them: it queues, batches, and back-offs around 429s. Heavy fan-out questions occasionally pause but won't fail silently.
How fresh is the data?
It's live. Each question hits the HubSpot CRM API at query time, so the answer reflects the current state of your portal — within HubSpot's own eventual-consistency windows for very recently updated records.
Does Sequel store my HubSpot data?
No. Only your OAuth tokens are stored, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and refreshed automatically as they expire. Query results live in your session and are discarded after. You can revoke Sequel from HubSpot → Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps at any time.
Can I combine HubSpot with my product or revenue data?
Yes. HubSpot + Stripe + Postgres is a common combo — ask one question that joins CRM stage, billing status, and product usage, and Sequel reasons across all three.
